Another unbelievable game. Another unbelievable loss.
When you move to a new state you somewhat instantaneously take-on that state’s team as your own when it gets down to the nitty gritty. Tonight I cheered (in vain) for Favre and his Packers to beat the stuffin’s out of Eli and his Giants – a team I grew up disliking while living in Rochester, NY.
The final field goal kick to win the game for the Giants was literally a slow-motion moment for me and the student population watching the game in my basement. I nearly cried real-tears. I didn’t – I’m a man – remember that.
In two weeks I will be faced with a decision to once again cheer for a team that I don’t hold very near or dear to my heart. Although they won tonight against the team for whom I was cheering their mission is simple. Stop the cheating Patriots from a 19-0 perfect season, post-season, and Super Bowl championship.
I’m voting to allow hand-to-hand combat weapons in the Super Bowl this year, too.
I’m with you Stev. I don’t want to see the Pats go all the way. They cheated, they don’t deserve to have a perfect season. I’m not a New York fan, but…..go Giants.
My opinion is, the feelings you feel with the Superbowl will be very similar to this years Presidential election. Yuck…..! I don’t think a shower will help.
I have to say that I have in no way taken on the Ravens as my team or the Orioles for that matter….I guess I will always be a Hoosier at heart!
S-T-E-V-A-N!!!!!! Take that back!!!You didn’t really say ‘combat weapons’, did you?!!! Stevan!!!!
Besides – I am a Patriot fan.Needless to say, I will not seek out being ‘you’ during the Superbowl game. I have enough trauma and drama in my life.
I guess I need to be more in tune. I don’t know what you all are referring to….Pats cheating?? Guess I am too naive.
Sorry, I meant…Needless to say, I will not seek out being with you during the Superbowl game.
Stevan, don’t be a hater of the Pats! I am from northern Maine and people that live in New England need all the help they can to make it through the winter. Allen
I was rooting for the Pack because they are an NFC north team, and because the Bears single-handedly whooped them up this year, it would have been nice to say that we beat the superbowl contenders twice during the regular season. As for the Pats, I would like to see them run the table and do it. I am sick of the middle-aged 72 Dolphins popping champagne every year.
If you live by the Favre, you die by the Favre.
Its too bad that he threw that long bomb for an interception.
Atleast it was a good season, and a good way to bond with my Wisconsin peeps.
It looks like you had a similiar experience.
See you next weekend bro.
