Fusion Update

I’m finally online. You’d think that would be easier than what I had to do to make it happen. I’m using a student’s log-in information because no one seems to know the “guest” login information for the IWU network. Interesting…

Fusion 2008 is going well. We got here safe and sound though by the time we arrived in Marion the brakes on our Montana were making me more-than-nervous about the return-trip. I had been putting off ‘getting them looked at’ in Wisconsin.. Thankfully my brother-in-law Rich had a connection and we were able to get right-in only to find out that my left-rear brake cylinder was completely shot, the right-rear was already failing and my front pads and rotors were in need of being replaced.

2-hours and $400 later, the Montana is rockin’ all-new brakes thanks to the Troy and Allen at TNT in Marion!

Last night’s opening rally was great. Josh Buck spoke about the trials he’s been through over the past few years with the death of his daughter and his tragic accident that has left him in a wheelchair and yet is still giving God glory and is choosing to serve Him with his whole-self.

The concerts were ‘interesting’ with Everyday Sunday, Falling Up, and The Afters rocking the Fusion stage. Jess and I were able to spend a little time with The Hofers and even got a tour of the NEW College Wesleyan Church – what an amazing place!

This morning we had a morning-rally and enjoyed worship with Paradigm – a bunch of guys we knew from college-days and a message from Foster Christie.

Lunch is about to start and then another break-out session for youth leaders and a closing rally before heading back to Mukwonago!

Ella is safe-and-sound with Grandma and Grandpa Garrett in Bluffton and we find ourselves looking around for her as we walk from place-to-place on campus. It is strange to not have that responsibility while here.

It’s great, too, being back at IWU and re-connecting with numerous college-friends and other ministry-friends that we don’t have many opportunities to connect with throughout the year.
