Tonight’s premier of Discovery’s “One Way Out” made me nervous. It has been pegged as a “preview” episode which makes me think they’re “testing us” to see if it’s something we’d like.
I liked it.
Jonathan Goodwin, the escape artist, is a pretty-good host and tonight’s escape is in-fact spectacular. Of course a “put-together” show has more holes in it than a “live” version. I do like the “everyday objects” idea of putting an escape together gives the show “originality”, which I liked.
::SPOILER WARNING::
The fact that on this first episode Goodwin did NOT escape is kind of interesting for the “preview episode” – someone’s taking a pretty big gamble on using this as the preview-episode, I’d say. It does show the reality of the show being “legit” and incorporating life-threatening situations – which may cause viewers to flock to it?
Time will tell if this show has a future. I’ll be DVRing it for sure.
Hi Stevan – Jonathan will be back with a 10-part series of One Way Out in January! We’re just putting his new site together, so please come join the fun at http://jonathanescapes.com/
good luck with the episode i will watch it! but i don’t know if its a good move to have him not get it on the first episode, i think the second would be a better choice because then you could know that you can make it and at the same time you can also be “legit”. Anyway, hi, let me indroduce myself. I’m Belle Hauladen. Im 13 years old. I found this website when i was in science. We were supposed to be decorating our science notebooks with magazines. I found a picture of your website and show. I think what your doing is fun and great! So i wanted to let you know that you guys and your website\show are going to be my whole science notebook! but my teacher said, though, that i have to have a logo with it thats science related. Can you help?
