I’ve been thinking today about the “National Day of Prayer“. It was mentioned in staff meeting today and my first thought was, “another one already?”
I’m of the “school”, I guess, that hasn’t yet memorized the National Day of Prayer calendar and for some reason I think I thought it happened numerous times throughout the year. (November?)
I think I like the idea of “National” prayer-topics, but focusing on praying for one-day as Believers throughout our nation? That’s close to advising us to participate in one “National Day of Worship” (Easter? Christmas?).
How about the “National Network of Pray-ers” or the “National Praying Continually Community”? I like those better. Someone please start the dot-com.
I wish we could comment on your twittering…
Totally agree with this – Just seems like we need more than a single day – should be a part of our daily discipline.
As far as starting the dot-com goes – I don’t think that’s the right venue – I think it needs to start in the hearts and minds of those who intentionally choose to follow Christ.
