Today, for the second-Saturday in a row, I joined with our church-staff in going door-to-door hanging door-hangers in two neighborhoods. Jess and Ella have both joined me each weekend and we’ve enjoyed making it a family-occasion. The door hanger is a means to tell people about our church, but we’ve also added another aspect to our door-hanging outings. If, by chance, we happen upon someone working the yard, tinkering on a car or just enjoying their front porch we’re attempting to engage them in conversation and ask them three crucial questions that we debrief on as a staff during lunch.
The questions:
01. “What would you say is the greatest need in our community?”
02. “Why do you think more people don’t attend church regularly?”
03. “Is there any event, program, or service we could offer at our church that might bring you through our doors?”
So far, the conversations have been great!
I designed the door-hanger, too. What’dya think?
I think ur questions are great and all – but I think i’d stay with the tried and true:
1) if you died tonight, do you know where you would go?
2) What big ugly sins are keeping you from eternity in heaven – I wanna hear all about them!
3) Do you want to pray the “sinner’s prayer?”
My suggestion is – next week if you go again – try my questions… I’m sure you’ll be pleased with the results!
:) glad to resource my big brother! no need to thank me!
Stev, those look great!
Where did you get them printed at?
I already e-mailed “Mike”, but for others’ information we printed the door hangers at my favorite online printer, GotPrint.com
Love the colors and the content!
I am proud of you for doing it, for your family along with and for the involvement of others!
Good beginning base! I don’t feel compelled to be too bold and forward! God DOES speak and CAN DO IT from the contact!
What an awesome idea using a door hanger to invite the community.
those are SUPER nice door hangers… kinda look like something that would come from saddlebrook or something….
U ROCK.
