Sheesh. It’s been quite a crazy-week.
Monday: my day-off consisted of completely tearing down a hand-me-down lawnmower that I thought I could fix. I saw some pretty interesting mold-growth that kind of made my nervous on the bottom of the mower-deck and didn’t think anything of it until I was mowing the lawn later (with a borrowed mower – leave me alone) and my throat began to close up.
Tuesday: I was pretty sure I was dying, so I stayed in bed most of the day feeling sorry for my closed-up throat and the fact that I couldn’t get the lawnmower working. Tuesday night we also had our first small group meeting and 10-guys showed up in our house for a couple hours! Even though I was feeling horrible, we had a great time.
Wednesday: I humbled myself and called the doctor. She confirmed the mold-spore-of-death idea and quickly prescribed me two antibiotics. I had a buddy of mine take over for me in youth group and my wonderful wife made sure that I had nothing to worry about!
Thursday: another down-and-out day. I stayed in bed most of the morning and finally got up in the afternoon to help Jess prepare the house for our guests coming that evening. Both sets of Ella’s grandparents arrived by 6PM and we enjoyed some food and Jess’ amazingly-made butterfly cake.
Friday: finally stepped out of the darkness and into the light of going back to the office. Worked for almost 8-hours without evening thinking about it.
So, I’m definitely on-the-mend, but still fighting the mold-cold.
My parents left on Friday morning to head to North Carolina for my Great-Grandmother’s funeral (with MOST of the rest of our huge-family) and Jess’ folks are with us until Sunday night!
