Parents and youth leaders need to stay apprised to the current trend of ‘sexting’ with students.
I just watched this interesting video from MSNBC talking about Vermont’s attempt to change laws lessening the punishment for ‘sexting” while at the same time trying to promote family-oriented-education about the subject.
I am disgusted by some of the dialogue on this clip that says students shouldn’t be held responsible for their actions. For instance, the Vermont Senator brings into question whether a student should not be allowed to go into the teaching-field due to being prosecuted for ‘sexting’ and becoming a registered sex-offender. If families (and government) continue to bail-out our students to make their decisions less-repercussive, aren’t we contributing to the failing of our society?
Here’s the clip from MSNBC:

oh man, society just gets numb and numb-er.
I hate to see what sort of thing will be out there when my 20mth son is older – maybe even just 10.
As parents we should be standing against such things, harder to say if it is your child facing charges tho.
hmmm
