Brief history:
Shippensburg is the oldest community of the Cumberland Valley, and the second oldest west of the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania. In July, 1730, 12 Scoth-Irish families came to the site of the present day Shippensburg and built cabin homes along Burd’s Run. Shippensburg began as the western outpost of colonial settlement.

Just found the Rails-to-Trails path that runs from Shippensburg to Newville. (11-miles!) I will be riding this trail!

I’ve talked about Geni.com before, but they just released this terrific explanation video that explains the process and benefit of using Geni.com in just one minute!

Confession: I haven’t logged into Geni.com in MONTHS, but I still think it’s a terrific tool for building and maintaining your family tree! I have just been overwhelmed with everything else and had to put my tree-making/maintaining on hold!

Our new home…

Well it’s almost official, but we’re jumping protocol and going LIVE with the details of our new home in Shippensburg, PA!

(for those of you who are wary of sharing your address on the web, might I remind you of the fact that your local White Pages phone directory is public and online, too | also, pastors waive some of the anonymity rights by usually having contact info plastered on the backs of bulletins at the churches we serve in!)

Isn't she beautiful?! What a blessing!

Our new address:
316 317 Shepherd Lane
Shippensburg, PA 17257

(when I read that address for the first time, I laughed out loud!)

Also, my new phone number – 717-496-0330

So.. update your contact info on the Sheets!

Our transition plans are still as follows.
Last Sunday at Armbrust – July 11th
We’re beginning to load our moving truck on that Saturday (10th) thru Monday (12th).
We’re planning on hitting the road on Tuesday the 13th with a move-in sometime in the afternoon there in Shippensburg!

Please be praying for us (my back!) and those who have already offered (and those who are still planning to offer!) to help us in this move!

We’re overwhelmed, excited, and all-kinds of other-emotions about this transition and new Season of ministry! We covet the prayers of our family and friends (and strangers!) as we seek Him first.

Hilarious “Dad Life” music video from the folks at Church On The Move that is getting lots of attention these days:

Dad Life from Church on the Move on Vimeo.

Church on the Move recently went “open source” and are providing FREE resources for other ministries on their new website, “http://seeds.churchonthemove.com” I absolutely LOVE that more and more churches are providing these kinds of high-quality resources to other ministries that couldn’t create something like this on their own! Video download and lyrics are available here for Dad Life.

Happy Father’s Day to the coolest dad I know – mine!
