Dear Extra, you win.

I can’t afford it, but man – this video makes me wanna go back to IWU! Maybe someday.

One of my first-rides on the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail on June 29, 2013.

This morning I reached a personal milestone: in the past 3-months I have biked over 200-miles!

Coached and encouraged by one of my church members and personal friend I jumped back on my Schwinn Mountain Bike back on June 26th and just this morning my total miles biked reached 205.65!

It feels so good. (And, yes, it hurts so bad, too!)

I’m so thankful and blessed to have the Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trail almost in my backyard. I’m also blessed to have been given the chance to borrow my buddy’s Raleigh Cadent road bike for the road-rides we’ve gone on together! I’ve been logging my rides over on bikejournal.com and I’ve been wearing my phone as my personal GPS using the MapMyRide app.

In just two weeks, my personal-encouragers are taking me down to Maryland to ride (hopefully) all 42-miles of the Western Maryland Rail Trail! They apparently think I can handle the 2-times longer distance than I’ve ever biked before because it’s a paved trail with train-approved grading. I’m hoping to not let them down!

To commemorate today’s crossing the 200-mile mark, I’m posting this “fly-through” video of our 21-mile journey this morning. I love having the kind of technology that enables me to relive today’s ride from the comfort of my air-conditioned office! If you’ve never biked 20+ miles through the rural Pennsylvania back roads, I’d love for you to enjoy this taste of what we get to enjoy as we ride out here. My only wish is that I could pipe the “fresh country air” through this blog to your nostrils, too!

Here’s our ride this morning:
