Ella, big sister.

This picture pretty much sums up Ella’s reaction to knowing yesterday that she would have a baby brother –

From 2009.02.16 – Hospital Ultrasound Visit

She’s excited. The ultrasound tech even gave Ella her OWN copy of the ultrasound picture!

My Saturday project today was a remodel of a church bulletin board in our church’s foyer. Good times with my buddy Jon Stull. What we thought would be a simple 2-hour-max project became an all morning and into-the-afternoon project (we did break for some lunch at Quiznos, too).

The goal was to turn a simple corkboard bulletin board into a nice paneled display with shelving for our LCD Photo Frames.

Here’s the breakdown of what we did in photographic form.

Got to call my grandpa Sheets to confirm my thoughts that when cutting paneling, you should cut the panel face-down to reduce the tear-out often caused by high-speed blades. I was right. Always nice to have that kind of a resource (my grandpa) just a phone call away!

“Aunt Pam” sent these photos to me in an e-mail today. The genius art-students at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN created quite a sculpture:

Gradual Change?

1.23.2009 — 4 Comments

Gradual change has come to America.

In case you missed it, yesterday was the inauguration of Barack Obama (interesting that Firefox still underlines both of those words as I type them – they haven’t made their way into the browser’s dictionary, apparently).

“Change”, apparently has come swiftly to America. One of those changes that I am drawn to was the nearly-instantly change to the whitehouse.gov website during the swearing-in of Obama!

Check out these before and after shots and then run on over to whitehouse.gov for yourself and read some of the other changes we should expect.
