Tomorrow after staff meeting in the morning, the Sheets-van will be leaving Mukwonago, WI headed for Bluffton, IN. We will be spending the night there tomorrow night and then getting an early start on Thursday for the rest of our trip to my parents’ home where we will crash for a couple of days before Jess and I arrive at our final destination in Jumonville, PA where I am speaking at “Full Throttle Camp” – a camp put on by Hamburg Wesleyan Church (Hamburg, NY).

I’m looking forward to this opportunity and ask for your prayers for the students at camp, my voice, the messages, camp-activities, my parents as they become 24/7 care-givers for Ella for a week, as well as safety on the road!

This has been one crazy Summer!

Had a great service-opportunity today at “The Gathering” in downtown Milwaukee. 18 of us from our church headed downtown this morning at about 8:30 for a day of serving food to those in need.

It was an absolute joy to serve 230 hungry people a meal and a smile. Some were grateful, some weren’t. My heart lurched each time a child came through the line and more-than-once I was near tears in gratefulness for what I have been blessed with in life!

My job today was “Shepherd’s Pie disher-outer”. I rocked at my job. I also rocked the hairnet all day too.

Pics from the day are here.

Today, 10 (yes, ten) 13-Line Ground Squirrels met their fate by refusing to catch the golden bb’s that were thrown at them at over 150fps.

Too bad for them!

Thanks to Jake and Rudy for helping make today’s hunt especially memorable. By the end of the hunt we had over 100-feet of hose stretched across the yard and placed it in more than a dozen holes to attempt to “flush” out these evil rodents.

After today’s slaughter, my Summer ground squirrel death count has reached twelve!

Stay tuned for further updates!

Wow, what a round of golf! I will definitely never forget those 18-holes.

As soon as we arrived on the course I knew today would be different than any previous round of golf I’d ever played! As we pulled up to the clubhouse I thought we were being robbed as a guy opened the hatchback of the van and took our clubs for us! What a treat!

We walked inside and turned in our coupons and were shown to our cart where our bags were already placed! I was further-impressed with the on-board GPS & digital scorecard built into the ceiling of our cart! How cool?!

My first 9-holes went quite well and I finished only 20-ish over par on the front nine. I don’t even want to talk about the back nine! In all, I think I’ve calculated losing AT LEAST twenty golf balls! Yes, 20! Embarrassing.

The Bull proved to be the absolute toughest round of golf that I’ve ever played and the most memorable! Thanks Gerry for taking me along!
