Archives For Images

Wow! What a blast we had today! I have just enough energy to finish uploading the photos and post a slideshow and link to them here on my site.

Big day tomorrow with services, graduation, and SNL tomorrow night! Mom and Dad Garrett and Aunt Jaymie will be with us through Monday morning! It’s been great having them here this weekend! Today truly was an incredible blessing all-around!

These pictures that came across my Internet surfing were absolutely fascinating:

Hearing that there are still unreached people groups that haven’t had contact with those outside their tribe is one thing, but to see pictures of these tribes shooting arrows at a plane flying over is completely intriguing!

Reminds me of the End of the Spear movie and story of missionary Steve Saint.

More information from these photographs taken just this month is available at Survival International’s site.

A great question was raised on the site where I first saw the pictures. The question was what methods of sharing the Gospel with unreached peoples would be most effective. I’m truly caught off-guard by this question and my mind is trying to wrap around the possibility of talking to someone with ZERO knowledge (not to mention language barrier situations) of God’s gift through Jesus!

What would you do? How would you share Jesus to those with ZERO background of a story most of us have grown up knowing and believing in one form or another?

Another great day with the Sheets family today!

We slept in a bit, stayed lazy for the morning and in the early afternoon we headed out to Lapham Peak – a part of the Kettle Moraine State Forest.

We quickly found a geocache early on in our visit and then headed out for a couple hours of of walking on a great paved path. It was a gorgeous day. Ella passed out while we were on the trail and we got her back to the car while still asleep for a ride around in the air conditioning!

We ended the evening with a tour around downtown Delafield and then dinner at the Water Street Brewery.

What a great time together with just us!

Full photoset here.

Today I surprised Jess and Ella with a day-away and didn’t give Jess even a hint as to what we were doing. When we arrived at Veteran’s Park on the lake in Milwaukee, I think each of us was pleasantly surprised. Hundreds of people and more than a hundred kites littered the sky across the lake. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

After a couple hours of kits we made our first visit to the Whole Foods Market and then headed to Alterra for a drink and then out to dinner at Rocky Roccoco’s Pizza in New Berlin.

It was a great day to be a family!

Some of my favorites from the day:

What a great 3-hours we spent walking through the HUGE Milwaukee Public Museum! It was incredible! Never did I expect this many exhibits in a museum in downtown Milwaukee. We finished the evening with supper at Famous Dave’s in Greenfield and came home for some belated birthday cake for Ella that Mom brought all the way from PA!

Photoset of the day is here.
