When I pulled back into the driveway this morning after taking the kids to Lowes for our latest “Build & Grow Clinic” I noticed that the church just next to our home (First Assembly of God, Shippensburg) had an enormous amount of motorcycles sitting in the parking lot.

Of course I was curious…

A quick run-through of my built-in calendar (in my brain) and I realized that today was the 7th Annual Ship Wish Ride – an event in our community to bring awareness and monetary blessing to some families-in-need.

I was so thankful that we caught it just minutes before the bikers all started their engines and took off on their ride. I snapped a quick panoramic of the bikes and riders prepping for their ride and then sat down and readied to film their start.

What a treat! Many of the riders waved and “beeped” at Ezra and Ella as they stood just behind me with Jess and waved at all the riders!

“God loves languages because God loves people and God loves to speak to people in their own language.”

Jonah –

Many churches are going through a “Joppa moment”.
There are fish that swallow us whole because we decide to go in another direction – because we flee where God is.

God is telling Jonah that God is in the city. Not to take God to the city.

“I speak in tongues: I speak in slang and I speak in seminary.”

“Much of North America suffers from an allergy – an allergy to the other.”

“Sometimes we need to be fish-food in order to be converted.”

“How dare we not love the people who God loves.”

“God is in the business of redeeming people and things that most people wouldn’t want to touch.”

God is saying, “What I have called CLEAN, let NO ONE call unclean.”

“God, help us to see – in ‘junkies’-bishops.”
