Archives For Ministry

Preached the third message in our series, “The Real Church” this morning. It was a revisiting of sorts of the third point – the quality of the REAL church: that the church has a “A Risk-Taking Faith”. We camped out on the story of Jesus feeding the five-thousand from Matthew’s Gospel and then we ended the service with a real-life opportunity for a personal, family-oriented, and church-wide faith-risk. I put before our church a Faith Promise opportunity for us to support missions.

We will be receiving the Faith Promise forms from our church families over the next two weeks and announce our total by the first week in November. I’m excited about what God is going to do through our church family to support the Gospel being spread around the world!

Slowly but surely I am getting the video from our 4 main sessions uploaded and processed through YouTube.

Here is Session #2:

One of my duties at FUEL was to ‘be funny’. I like that job description…

We are having a great time at FUEL. We have found an excellent mix of “funny” and “serious” for this event, I think.

You want funny? How about a video of my good friend Heath Mullikin doing a monologue about Daylight Saving Time?

Heath has an awesome ministry-resource website at www.chaseyourlion.com

You want serious? How about the first session’s message video from Dave Bever?

I’m in Indianapolis this week for the FUEL youth pastor’s conference. Speaking this week is Pastor Dave Bever. He’s pastor of the New City Church in Cleveland and has become a great friend of mine over the past few years.
FUEL has about 150 youth pastors gathered for renewal, retooling, and refreshing. I’m honored to have been able to help plan and carry out this event! I love that the Wesleyan denomination values our youth pastors enough to pull together an event like this to train and refresh our youth leaders!
The following video comes from a pre-session sound check.
